Baofeng UV-5RA Features

The Baofeng UV-5RA is a great little radio for the price. It’s a dual band transceiver that covers the 2 meter and 70 cm bands. The frequency range is between 136-174MHz for VHF, and 400-480MHz for UHF. There are 128 programmable channels. The output power can be selected at low (1 watt) or high (4 watts).

What’s Wrong with the Baofeng UV-5RA?

Some of the Baofeng UV-5RA’s do not transmit the DTMF tone “D”. This is a firmware issue that cannot be fixed.
